Filming in the Aquitaine region of France, Mathieu Busson directed Micha Mouse to create and reveal the “real life of a fictional character.”
Set in New York City during the late 1920s, this biopic recounts the fantasized life of a certain Walt, a cartoonist who is idle and broke.
Walt finds inspiration thanks to an encounter with a curious Lilliputian Russian neighbor named Micha. Micha’s appearance, while oppositional in character gave rise to the future hero. . . Mickey.
Clips, reinventing the early black and white Disney Cartoons, surface throughout the film.
