How did you adapt Raphaële Moussafir’s book and comics Du vent dans mes mollets?
Du vent dans mes mollets was first a show performed entirely by Raphaële. She played all the different characters: the father, the mother, the little girl Rachel, the grandmother. As for the book, it was by definition a chronicle. Indeed, it was a series of sessions at the children psychologist. In those sessions, Rachel lets us enter into her very own world. The most difficult part was to bring the audience to a real story with a beginning, middle and end, to finally immerse the viewer at the heart of an initiatory journey.
You did manage to make the death issue weaved though the film almost sweet. . .
In this story, those afraid of death are adults, little Rachel is certainly not! Adults pass all their fears onto her. She acts them out and pushes them away. It is true that in all my movies, children are the ones who breathe life into their parents.
